For Henry...

Kicking Bag

I started this kicking bag just before my nephew Henry was born, in fact I knitted quite a lot of it while my sister was in labour.

Kicking Bag

I had been saving this lovely sock yarn for a special project, so this well & truly hit the mark.

Kicking Bag

Thanks to the fantastic Purl Bee tutorial I finished it using kitchener stitch. It's far from perfect, but if done well it creates a lovely seamless finish, I think the secret is in getting the tension right.

Kitchener StitchI I liked this project, although I think next time I would swap the mini cable for 2x2 rib. It was quite a monotonous knit, but it's handy to have a project you can pick up without having to think about where you are up to & I think the finished project is a very sweet baby gift.

For a very sweet babe.

That sweet baby would be one to knit and knit for.

The mysteries of the k stitch still elude me, but I do think that the tension factor is key.

Best wishes.
