I'm still working on the slow burn craft, it turns out the blanket I'm working on is appealing to my inner control freak.
I'm working in groups of 24 squares. Of each group of 24, no two squares are identical. I start by crocheting six circles in each of my fours colours & work from there.
I have been holding off on sewing my first block of 24 squares together because ( I have no idea what I am doing &) I'm a bit worried that the hot pink is a bit overpowering. I definitely prefer the blocks that contain the softer pink, white & grey.
I will have to sit down soon & work out how big I would like the blanket to be, how many squares I need to do & how much more wool I will need to buy!

I know what you mean about the pink... but it looks great! It compliments the charcoal nicely.
I know you're not a pink girl.
All the best with your mad calcs.
This is looking lovely. I quite like the pinks - they are toned down quite a bit by your grey border! Keep up the good work.
This Slow Burn business is going to be all kinds of wonderful. And I reckon, it’s just that you've been looking at that hot pink too long - there has to be a bit of 'pop' methinks.
Found this through Pinterest and just wanted to throw in my two cents, which are that the vibrant pink is lovely. I love the bit of punch it gives the squares. I vote yes!
god this is turning out out unreal. I like bright pink. but thats just me.
I LOVE the hot pink. It absolutely MAKES it. x
i love the softer pink ones too. thank you for your chapter book recommendation...i'm excited to read that one. i have never heard of it.
Love them - beautiful colour combination.
Wow, it's looking really great. I'm not a pink fan but it looks good.
I think it's lovely, hot pink and all!
Maybe this will help with the joining?

absolutely adorable, can't wait to see the end result and I love, love the dark pink.
It looks great Christie. Will you be using the charcoal to join? If you are, and you crochet them together (I recommend) there will be heaps mor charcoal and you might tik differently about the bright pink.
Such beautiful crochet, isn't the bamboo hook wonderful? I so prefer them to the metal ones ... and Clover makes a lovely crochet hook combining comfy handle and steel hook!
ps Crochet seems to take heaps more wool than knitting I find ...
Great colours! Looks really neat.
Love this - I am making some the same (minus the hot pink). Was considering joining them with hot pink but not sure. xoxo
Very lovely
i like your projekt
