It's still very painful to watch & I have a habit of trying to knit with the crochet hook, but I am slowly starting to get it.
After many attempts, this is the first one that comes close to looking like a granny square.
Mant thanks to Kate, for making me try something new, Kirsty for being a very patient teacher, Shannon for not heckling & Pip for writing a book with fantastic instructions!

That was my problem when I started crocheting too. I found it so hard not to try to knit. I practiced and practiced and now I can do it. Once I figured out how to hold the yarn properly I felt a lot more comfortable.
Ooh how exciting, you are getting there...YAY
I see many tight little granny squares in multiple shades of blue being made by you. you nimble fingered trakster.
Three cheers for you (& team crochet). x
Good job! I promise, you will end up loving the hook x
Is that a bamboo crochet hook? Where did you find that? I've never seen one only knitting needles. Just popped over to you via Townmouse - love your site. x
It's looking great! You'll be an expert before you know it!
