Ticking Boxes...

I'm slowly ticking boxes & crossing things off lists, which would be great if I didn't keep adding to said lists too.

Mini Quilt

This is my completed offering for the Down Under Quilt Swap, organised by Kate.

Mini Quilt

It was feeling a bit bland so I added a red boarder & binding, which I think sets the linen & neutrals off nicely. I machine sewed the binding on too, a technique I am starting to feel more confident with.

Mini Quilt

The finished quilt is long & skinny so it is more of a table runner than a quilt, something to brighten up your kitchen table, if my partner is so inclined.

Edited to add: If you want to try machine binding, Rita's tutorial is great, although I reverse her technique so that I catch the binding on the front & (hopefully) stitch in the ditch on the back.

It looks great Chris and I really like the way you have used the red print.

It's really lovely Chris, now tell me...do you use a binding foot? I've just heard that these are quite a handy tool for accuracy...not that you seem to be having problems...your looks perfect!

And I must ask...what is your tip for sewing curves so perfectly?

You have one lucky partner there...

Oooh yes I love the red! Can you recommend a tutorial for the machine binding?

I'm really hoping this one's for me, but actually I'm not even in the swap ;)

I know I need to try machine binding but far out it scares the bejesus out of me! My sewing is just too unpredictable! I haven't tried Rita's tute though so perhaps that would make a difference.
