Is There a Doctor In the House...

Dr Emergency!

Willow loves imaginative play & I realised recently that for the child of a mum who sew's, her dress up box is rather lacking.

Dr Lo

So when she started playing Doctor the other day I decided a costume was in order. The result is a bit wonky but it was a quick to sew & a huge hit.

Dr Willow

Together we set up a surgery complete with waiting room (sans old magazines- sorry toys) & Willow happily spent the afternoon administering medication & sage advice.

Dr Willow

She took her role very seriously & I think she looks quite the part too. In case anyone wants to make their own scrubs, I used this pattern.

Ah yes, we have a similar "kit" waiting for my daughter for her birthday. She loves playing doctor to her teddy's

this is so gorgeous... and so timely for me! I too was looking at the dress up box the other day and thinking "this is no longer age appropriate", so for Daisy's b'day I'm planning scrubs, maybe a nurse's outfit, a princess dress, and possibly an 'alice in wonderland' dress ~ now to see what will 'actually' happen!?!?

hope that all is well with you and yours xox

Perfect! Maddie is obsessed with doctors and I'm actually getting her a medical kit for her birthday in a few weeks - I'll sew those scrubs up too - excellent!!!!

We've spent far too much time experiencing the real deal lately! Having said that this could be the perfect way for my sick fella to rehearse for any more trips to hospital we have ... God forbid! The shade of green is spot on.

I'm guessing she will get much joy from this (& you too no doubt)

My mother-in-law made my 2 eldest doctor outfits (white scrubs), with some kid sized face masks & the scrub hair-nets they look quite the part.....if only I could get them to focus on the soft toys instead of me.....there diagnostic skills & bed-side manners need work!

What a great dress up item and better still if it doesn't take hours to sew up.

What a great outfit Christie. The Smurf loves playing Drs and his dress up box is also seriously lacking. Thanks for the inspiration.

That is the cutest thing I've ever seen. Looks like she will have a great future in the health sciences.

There are severe penalties for masquerading as a medic.......I should know, particularly in queensland
