Knockoff Nightie...

This is a simplified version of a friend's daughter's favourite nightie. A took a pattern off it & decided to have a go at replicating it. My version is super simple, however due to a lack of fabric I couldn't cut the neck binding on the bias, which I think would be better. I sewed the hem with a twin needle, my new favourite toy, although I still haven't managed to get the tension quite right.

Nightie

The fabric is from Spotlight's new quilting range, & while I quite like the design the fabric feels very starchy, even after a wash. I hope it softens up with a bit of wear. Naturally Willow refused to try on the nightie so I have no idea if it fits her or not.

Ah, the old 'I don't care if you made it for me Mum, I'm not putting it on' trick. Well I think it's gorgeous. Beautiful job.

Very sweet. Would be lovely in an old op-shop cotton sheet. Super-soft... but might not capture the neckline as well. Lovely!

That is so cute. I think I'll have to give it a go.

The fabric is gorgeous but that last sentence cracks me up. A mother who didn't sew would not get it.

I ove homemade nighties, and thankfully so do my girls.

Oh very cute and pretty! Typical girls, I make my daughter something and she refuses to try it on, and then a week later I am nagging her to take it off so I can wash it. Spotlight do have some lovely fabrics at the moment, I bought some Emily Bloom fat quarters the other day.

Very cute!
I never seem to have enough fabric for cutting on the bias either.
