Luke Skywalker...

If you ask me Ryder is a perfect young Anakin Skywalker, but as he has only seen Episode IV, he doesn't really know who that is & it is far too difficult to explain!

Luke Skywalker

So, Luke it is. It turns out the Oliver & S PJ pattern makes a fantastic Luke Skywalker costume when made with a nice linen/cotton blend. I simply omitted the exterior tie, & made a karate-style belt. Add some ugg boots & a lightsaber & you are set.

We have a bit of a star wars buff on our hands right now. Ryder & I had a date at the Star Wars exhibition last week, if you are a fan, it is well worth a look.

That's brilliant! I have two aspiring Lukes here (though one is tending more towards The Dark Side) who would love costumes like that. I think I will have to get one of those Oliver + S patterns.

Great costume! He looks pretty rapt with it... and so he should be! My boys crazy about Star Wars too. Have been thinking of taking them on the weekend, but have been scared about the crowds... was it really busy?

The beauty of this is, Ryder basically has a 24 hour outfit thing going there. I'm sort of hoping you've made two so that one of 'em makes it into the wash sooner or later.

It's perfect!

I've got three starwars freaks here. Starwars is one of the "family bonding games". x

Gorgeous - and I'll have to keep that in mind for my son when he inevitably turns into a Star Wars fan! Hopefully he takes them off so you can get them into the wash sometime!

Little boys and star wars... I am working on a little star wars project for Caleb at the moment. And a "hoodie dress" (aka jedi cloak) in the works for Christmas. I might add this to the list! Such a great idea.

Thanks for posting this picture I would have never thought of that pattern for a Star Wars costume. My 9 year old wanted to be Obi-Wan Kenobi!!! So he got the Oliver & S top with an Obi belt from the Patty Young Kyoko, with another belt on top - and he looks just great. He is so pleased with it. Thanks for the inspiration
