Summer Skirt...

I have been meaning to make Willow some Summer skirts, I think this has been on my to do list since last Summer.

Skirt Waist

Recently I purchased some far, far away from Corrie with the intention of making Willow some clothes, so I thought a little lazy days skirt would be a nice quick project to start with.

Instead of binding the hem with ribbon, I made my own fabric binding which took a little bit longer but I like the result. The fabric is lovely & fine, but I think next time I will use a bit more fabric (for extra twirlability) & make a separate waistband.

Willow isn't too fussed, as far as she is concerned as skirt with princesses on it is perfect!

Very cute! Agree. Trim was worth the extra work. I couldn't resist and have brought the full range in fats from Corrie ;)

That's lovely! And thank you for the link to the pattern - I've been looking for a pattern to make something with some nice fabric I have - I think it will work nicely! I suspect (hope) it will be too big for this summer though (which means I'll have more time!!).

Gorgeous skirt - I have just bought some Oliver + S patterns and can't wait until they arrive and I can start sewing!

I'm about to make one of these ruffle skirts for my daughter - another great online freebie!

Think I may have to 'borrow' this one - if you see a little girl twirling around looking similar it wasn't that I stole the idea or anything.
