Alice & The Mock Turtle...

Alice & The Mock Turle

Phew! I have finally finished my redwork piece for the quilt project. It is based on a drawing by Mabel Lucie Attwell of Alice & the Mock Turtle, from Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.

Alice

It took quite a while, as most of the piece is single strand embroidery. The Mock Turtle's hankie & Alice's dress are needle turn applique.

Mock Turtle Tear

The finished quilt will be on display for one night only & I cannot wait to see it all together. Everyone was created such unique work & I have been really enjoying seeing everyone's take on the theme over on flickr. A big thank you to Kirsty for organising this project, it has been a great challenge.
