Letting Go...

I have been a bit absent from this space of late. It wasn't a planned absence, but it feels like life has been throwing us & those around us some curve balls of late & it is all about priorities I guess.

On top of that I have been trying to get on top of some jobs that have long been ignored. Sorting through years of accumulated 'stuff' & working out what really should stay or go. It has been rather cathartic to rid us of many things, although the hoarder in me really struggles with letting go. It was much easier when we didn't have any storage space, it simply wasn't an option.

Cleaning Cloths

So the clothes that weren't good enough to be passed on to friends or charity have been overlocked into cleaning cloths. I probably could have just chopped them up, but they look a bit nicer like this & hopefully they will last longer too. It is mostly old t-shirts & bibs, perfect for their new job & much better than sending them off to landfill. Hopefully I will have some more creative endeavors to share with you soon.

I'm having a total "A-HA" moment. What a great idea to cut up old clothing to use as rags. I mean, I DO use old clothing as rags but to actually cut them into pieces and serge the ends! Duh. Thanks for your post!

Awesome. I heartily approve. Great idea to overlock too... it's just nice to take care of things, even old rags. Thanks for that.

We have been doing this too, sorting out the garage and the cupboards. However my husband will have to drag me kicking and screaming to sort the last couple of the boxes, as I am over it! :)

Hope your clean spaces makes you feel happy and that you smile when you see your handmade clothes.
