Hit And Miss...

Frenchie Tee

I have a habit of not posting about the times when my crafting adventures don't go to plan. It isn't actually deliberate, but I have realised that it has perhaps gives the impression that I don't ever mess up, when in fact I do quite regularly!

Today I made a stupid mistake. I was looking forward to using my Gocco, which has been languishing in my craft room gathering dust for some time now. So instead of checking that I had fabric ink & screens, I just jumped in & used what I had on hand. This happened to be a paper screen & (non-Gocco) fabric paint.

So the end result is a blobby image, thanks to the ink bleeding everywhere & I have learnt my lesson. I need to stock up on some more Gocco supplies before I have another try, so I think the Gocco will be back to gathering dust.

Oh & if you like the image, it is an adaptation of one I found on Martha Stewart. I had hoped that it looked like my parent's Frenchie, Jacques whom my kids adore.

Not knowing what the image was supposed to look like, I thought this was quite cute. Maybe it's only half a miss? :)

Still not convinced on the miss bit. Only because the blobby looks intentional, the illustration is sweet and the black looks very black (not grey around the edges?). But I do absolutely get that if it wasn't what was in your head, then it's going down as a miss.

I think this is a perfect example of how the creator is much more critical than the receiver. I can always see a ton of mistakes when everyone else is just impressed that I made something. :) However, this shirt looks super cute. I've never done gocco so I would have no idea that it was blobby.

i think the boy could still rock this tshirt - it oozes "my mum made this and my mum is cool" (in my humble opinion that is) :-D

You miss is still better than my gocco efforts - I think it is cute.

The print looks good to me, maybe a finer mesh next time might help with the fabric ink not oozing through the screen.

I really like your pup. I have a Gocco too and haven't got up the courage to use it as yet.
