Purse For Freya...

So this is one of the things I was working on yesterday. A little birthday gift for one of Ryder's friends.

Purse

I really love how the cross stitched name turned out, although I had planned for it to go in the side (not bottom) seam, until I realised that it was too big. I also went through two purse frames to get to this end result, but I guess I still need a bit of purse making practice.

Purse : Detail

I think I need to buy some more of this lining fabric, it is so sweet.

Purse : Lining

I hope this gift is well received, I want to make one for myself now! Oh & in case anyone wants to make one too I used this kit.

Oh, so cute! Love the heffalumps. I want to do nikki's workshop for the purses, hope mine turn out as cute!

I bought one of the kits from Stitches and Craft. I love your elephant fabric (again) creation. Very cute.

What a doozy! Every time I peek on your blog, I think "Wow, she really knows how to do stuff" as opposed to the wing and a prayer I usually work with. But you have inspired me to take some deep breaths, recite an 'I Can Do It' mantra or seven and give one of those kits a whirl...

very cute little purse.

I've been meaning to contact you regarding the rainbow fabric I used in my apron post (you may need to click to remind yourself). Anyway it was from an old curtain & I have a bit left (& am finding it hard to store all the fabric I've collected) so if you would like a piece let me know. One thing though, it is a thermal lined fabric so is really only suitable for certain projects. I use it for pencil rolls (and obviously aprons-lined)& it works well for those.
