I have been enjoying an unplanned break from blogging. It has been surprisingly relaxing being away from the computer more than usual, but I couldn't resist a bit of light blog reading & email checking, here & there.
The sewing machine has been silent too & I haven't even been stitching, but that has made some time for a bit of spring cleaning, organising & general preparations for the start of the school year. I let a lot of things slide last year & I really want & need to make some changes this year for the good of the whole household. There are lots of lists being crossed off & added too & it is really nice to feel like I am achieving some things that are long overdue.
In the midst of all this this has been lots of time with spent with family, reading, beach jaunts, fishing adventures & the routine of no routine, be it good or bad.
Looking back on 2008, a year that I thought wasn't too flash, some pretty great things have happened. For the first time in many years there were no new babes, no renovations & no big moves. Just when I write it off as a rather dull year I realise that it was actually full of great things. Wonderful trips with & without the kids, a huge milestone (or two) for Ryder & one for me too. Celebrations big & small & exciting new opportunities, some of which are yet to be mentioned in this space.
One of the biggest thing that I have taken out of 2008 is some amazing friendships. Some have stood the test of time & distance & others are new but very special & I look forward to their evolution.
I guess this ramble is my way of welcoming the new year, shiny with promise & excitement. A clean slate & I can't wait to write on it...
