Bearing Fruit...

Cucumbers + Beans

The veggie patch that Rog has worked so hard on is already bearing fruit or I guess I should say veggies. Today the boys picked a basket full of beans & cucumbers & the Tomato plants (that are now 6 feet tall) are laden with green tomato's.

Tomato's

I can't wait for the tomato's to be ready to pick, as I child I used to eat tomatoes like they were apples, straight off the vine & I am dreaming about making a huge Insalata Caprese (Sliced tomato's + Buffalo Mozzarella + basil leaves, drizzled with olive oil & seasoned with salt & pepper) with our first pickings.

Great rewards, you've done well, really well !

And don't be too disappointed on the Insalata Caprese .. I find no matter home fine, fresh, home-grown, or expensive the produce .. it is not as good as the ones I ate in Italy nightly.

Same goes for gelato.

gorgeous! Isn't growing food so much fun? It's amazing knowing you're feeding yourself. And so cool to watch the plants grow!

Bumper crop I say!
Insalata caprese is my absolute fave.
I can't wait for my tomatoes too.

The garden's delights look fantastic. My garden needs some TLC. Too hot, then too cool, too much water and then not enough.
