Planting...

Planting

Lots of hard work has been going into out little veggie plot in the lead up to today. The area was cleared of plants & weeds, compost was dug into the soil & then the raised beds were created.

Planting

I know we are planting a bit later than we should, but hopefully we will still reap the benefits of our new veggie patch.

Planting

I really hope that the kids take a real interest in the process too, I don't want to be left carrying all those buckets of water from the bathtub to the yard alone...

Lovely! Can you set up a syphon? It works really well if your bath is higher than the exit point for the water.

I love having a vege patch and knowing that my kids know where food comes from. Look like your little dude is enjoying the process.

For watering, we have a pump that we bought from the environment shop in Thornbury. It wasn't too expensive, and sure beats lugging water.

Enjoy your garden! :o)

Don't mean to be a downer, but be sure to use only fresh water for your veggie patch! Grey water may damage the vegies or you. I am jealous though - can't wait to have my own! Emma.
