Once upon a time there was a dear little girl who was loved by everyone who looked at her, but most of all by her grandmother, and there was nothing that she would not have given to the child. Once she gave her a little riding hood of red velvet, which suited her so well that she would never wear anything else; so she was always called 'Little Red Riding Hood.'*
Oh, is that a wolf I see!?
I love that in the original version of the story she takes a cake & a bottle of wine to grandmother, in our version she took felt food.
This is the most successful last minute, off the cuff sewing that I have ever done. No pattern or measurements to work from, just an idea & some fabric that I loved. I basically cut out a big circle & a hood from the velvet & the lining fabric & then sewed everything together with some ribbon ties at the neck. I didn't even top stitch it in the end, I thought that might be tempting fate.
