Ouch!

I didn't mean to go AWOL, guess it is school holidays, lots of wrangling of the kiddlettes 'round here & too many tantrums... from me.

Ouch! Front

Anyway, I finished this embroidered hot/cold pack, or at least the cover, for the purpose of these pictures it is stuffed with a packet of popping corn. I am still deciding whether to fill the insert with wheat or rice, thoughts?

Ouch! Back

I love the fabric on the back which is the last scrap of a fat quarter that I got from the Amitie sale. I wish I had more of it.

If you want to make a wheat/rice bag, I found a tutorial here.

What a gorgeous idea Christie,
I love that.

Did you hand embroider that? It's so precise!

I take a hot rice pack to bed on cold nights, it only holds the heat for about half an hour or so (which is long enough to get to sleep). Maybe a wheat pack would hold the heat longer??

yep, hand embroidered, but I have no idea if wheat would hold the heat longer...

The embroidery was a most inspired idea!! Looks fabulous. I used wheat in my packs which seems to work well - the heat also lasts about 30 minutes or so.
