Offline...

Our poor computer has been super s l o w for a while now & we finally got the computer guy to come out on Wednesday to fix it, or at least that was the plan...

After spending a little while checking out the problem he kindly informed me that he was going to have to take it away for a couple of days! The conversation went something like this...

Mr Computer Man: Well, it isn't anything major, it looks like you've got a couple of virus's, your security software needs to be updated & we will upgrade your memory. I'll take the computer with me, it should only take a couple of days.

Me: What!? But... How long? Um.... really!? [gulp, look of horror on face]

silence

Mr Computer Man: Can you check your emails from your mobile?

Me: Umm.....no.

Mr Computer Man: We will try & have it back to you by Friday so that you won't be without it all weekend.

Me: Okay.....

Mr Computer Man: [Walking out the front door with my dusty hard drive under his arm] I'll call you when it is ready...

Me: [hopefully] Okay!!

It's funny how reliant I have become on the Internet & yet without it how life is a whole lot simpler. I am very happy to have access to the world wide web again, but maybe I need to learn that it is okay to be offline, sometimes...

It is surprising how much you can get done when you are off-line. My computer is in the kitchen so I tend to check it everytime I walk past! I need to impose some off line time once in a while.

does this mean that you are back now?... sometimes a 'forced' break is good?!? I hope that you enjoyed you time off :)

I was wondering where you had disappeared too! Isn't that weird! I think I would freak if someone took my computer away.
Willows new dress is gorgeous!

It's scary isn't it, how freaked out you get when you think you can't access blogs and your emails. So silly!

It's so nice to have the live-in 'computer guy', I can tell you :) But a break here and there would do me good, too!
