Something To Make Me Smile...

Yesterday my sewing machine started acting out in the most horrible way & I came down with the disgusting, snotty bug that everyone else in the house is suffering from. Not good. The combination has made me grumpy to say the least & the cold weather isn't cheering me up either. Then I heard the postie...My doll quilt had arrived all the way from the US of A! This quilt is beautiful & it is so well made, I love it. If you want to see some more of Wendy's beautiful work have a look at her blog or over at flickr.
Unfortunately my pics don't do this quilt justice, but that's what you get when your camera is being held together with an elastic band... does anyone have any recommendations for a digital SLR? I really want one before we go away next week. She even included some extra charm squares, nice.

Lo has suddenly gone doll crazy & by her definition any soft toy is also considered a 'bebe'. She is constantly carrying around a new 'child' or putting them to bed in some random location, often with a pillow on their head, hmm.... What Lo doesn't know is that my sis found her a vintage pram & has almost finished restoring it for her, so I think that this new quilt we be getting lots of use. I hope Wendy won't be offended if I let my daughter actually play with this quilt or apposed to displaying it on the wall.

oh wow lucky you! gorgeous!!!

I'm lusting after one of those gorgeous canon 400D SLR but my dad insists I'm not ready for it and better stick to my little olympus c-770 ( I think thats right) which does the job at under $500......

and so jealous of your trip..and I want a picture of you running around mood with a budget and a time limit and tim gunn at the door (ok no tim gunn)!

Such a gorgeous quilt....amazing stitching. I love all the charm squares too.

Ditto for Corries comment...I want to see lots of Mood photos - do you think they'll yell at you for taking photos inside their store?

Oh my god you're not going to let your daughter use that gorgeous thing on a (gasp) 'doll'!!! Good for you and what a perfect use for it. I was recently given an old doll cot and can't wait to see if one of my soon to arrive doll quilts will suit. Anyway I hope you don't have the snotty cold for too long - I have been sick for two weeks now and I'm truly over it! I love my little Canon ixus 70 - small and fabulous!

What a great quilt! I loved the circle quilting on top of all those right angles.

I just read the sad, sad news....that I didn't get your wonderful quilt. Sniff.

a very special quilt for a very lucky girl!

have a look at this website before you go away - www (dot)bhphotovideo (dot) com
they are based in manhattan. my dad recently purchased a canon (the only way to go apparently!) from them while he was over there and said that the service was great.

Thanks everyone for the camera tips, I think Canon is the way to go...

Kathryn, thanks for the link, they are super cheap, the only problem is that we aren't doing NY, just LA, San Fran & Vegas

And I guess I am not the only Tim Gunn fan out there, I think Rog will be doing his best Tim Gunn impression by giving me a budget & telling me that my time is up & we have to go NOW!!!
