No Good Deed Goes Unpunished...

So just to update on yesterday's events...

Roger headed off to the beach for his mini-break & I packed up the kids to visit my folks. The plan was that we would hang out & have dinner there & then Lo would stay the night & I would would head home with Ryder who (drowsy from the car trip) would pop into bed without a peep, leaving me free to watch a nice chick flick or some such time-wasting activity. Anyway, that was the plan...

After rounding up the ton of things that were required for Lo to have a sleepover & then dragging/carrying the kids out of the house I realised that I had done a stupid, stupid thing. I had locked my keys inside the house. I was stuck outside with no car or house keys, 2 grumpy kids & a mobile phone with a battery that was about to die. It was kind of downhill from there as Ryder (who is not quite toilet trained) had an accident or the worst kind & Willow (who was due for a cat-nap in the car) started to turn.

To cut a long story short, after many frantic phone calls & a couple of half-hearted attempts at 'breaking & entering' I was rescued & we were back on track. The moral of this story is to make sure that you actually give a spare key to your sister, instead of just saying that you will/should. The other moral is just not to be stupid & lock yourself out of your house in the 1st place.

The next morning I was frantically searching for my keys & this is where I found them.

Yes, right in the front door. Clearly I am not thinking straight at present.

I had a moment like that recently so I really feel for you. Kids - they send you quite nuts don't they. I hope you at least had a few moments to yourself!
