Bit of a new look for the blog. I really want to give it a complete overhaul, but unless someone abducts my children for a week I will have to stick to tweaking it whilst they amuse themselves with sharp objects. My new '1958' slippers from creative babies arrived today, all wrapped up like a pressie. I should have taken a pic but the boy child is big on unwrapping at the moment so they were gone in a flash. They are a bit big, but for house slippers they are just fine & I love their vintage goodness.Fabric covered beads (made by me) for the Lo-please no chocking comments. I have been wanting to give these a try for ages & there is a tutorial in Making Stuff so here they are. The beads I used were a bit too small & I think they would work better with thinner fabric (they suggest using an old silk scarf), but they were pretty good for a 1st attempt & super easy. They also look great against her new denim frock, which is an early birthday pressie from some very generous friends. Also for Miss Willow, Beatrix Potter books. Not the complete set (as yet) but the hunt continues. My fantastic Aunty Fay tracked these down, they are vintage & in fantastic condition. I have been trying to track down some Owl bookends for her shelves after spying a cool set at Meet Me at Mikes a little while back. I haven't had any luck yet, but when I spyed this little rabbit I knew just where he belonged. I guess we should call him Peter.

ohhh we picked up a lovely set of beatrix potter books in a cute box from our neighbours garage sale!!!

thanks for the melbourne tips! I've underestimated the amount of unpacking and sorting to do while minding a toddler so hopefully next week we'll go further than the supermarket or local park!
