Destination: Home...

I know it has gone all quiet around here of late. Life has been pretty busy & my poor little blog has been relegated to the bottom of my ever growing To Do List, so I guess I should do a bit of a recap...
Our big news is that we are going to stay in Melbourne. Yep, the China move is off. I won't go into the ins & outs of our change of heart at the 11th hour, but the bottom line is that we are going to stay in our town, with our family & friends (whom we love so dearly), & that, my friends, is GRAND!

I can't say that I wasn't a tiny bit disappointed that my big adventure was not to be, but the pros of staying certainly outweigh the cons & I have been quite taken aback the the amount of people who have been so glad that we are staying. Shucks guys. Unfortunately we have already had just about every immunisation known to man & our home is in boxes, but c'est la vie! Given that we had already gotten our heads around moving to a new country, we think it is a good opportunity to look for new digs anyway. Our family of four has suddenly outgrown our current location & as sad as it will be to move out of our first family home, it is Spring, the time of new beginnings, so it just feels right.

On the home front, Willow has mastered the art of crawling & standing (with the aid of furniture). She can even go up/down the single step in our house-it took Ryder a lot longer & a lot more tumbles to do this... Unfortunately the poor little might is teething & is typical Willow fashion she is making a song & dance of it. Ryder on the other hand has starting to enjoy having a sister on the move & can be heard to yell 'Willie-Willow, come with me!' whilst trying to coax her into his bedroom. Yesterday he was playing peek-a-boo with her by putting a toy basket on her head-she thought it was hilarious. Poor 2nd child. Ryder has also discovered a love of drawing. Unfortunately his artwork isn't restricted to paper...
So for now I am going to pack some more boxes & I will not be leave it so long between posts!

Glad you're staying put & happy about it. My sister lives far away & I WISH she would come home. Maybe your move should be to the burbs where the trees are green & op shops are kind.

I have a similar artwork on a terracotta pot I received as a wedding present.

Meanwhile, some exhuberant colouring in was unable to be removed from the couch covers in the latest wash. Grrr.

Good news about China - they're not getting good press ATM, are they ?

Fab also about house-hunting. We've had a few since the birth of DS1, and I live for realestate.com even now ... mmm .. hou-ses...
