The Lady Mona...

Today it was onto the Metro & off to the Louvre. Not a bad view from the Louvre: We got there nice & early & as it isn't tourist season in Paris the crowds weren't too bad. It was my 1st visit to the Louvre & it is going to take many, many more before I feel I have done it justice. We stopped to see the lovely Mona Lisa 1st 1 I must say I got a bit emotional seeing the real thing, much smaller than expected though.

After that we strolled around until the natives got restless. Then it was back on the metro & off to Ladurée. The lovely lady who was serving us told us that if you have a son & then a daughter then the French say that you 'have the choice of the King'...

So many photos, confusion reins, what to write next... yes I know how you felt about the Mona Lisa, I too had a quiet tear, very moving to think we are there in front of her when she lived so long ago etc. ROGER, what did I tell you about that Bastille market, did you find the vanilla beans? We must compare photos of the market when you are back. xxxx
